...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS FRIDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY... .A strong low pressure system will begin to move into the area later today, bringing a cold front through the area early Friday morning. Widespread showers will follow behind the front throughout the day Friday into Saturday, however clearing behind the front late Friday morning will enable scattered thunderstorm development. Thunderstorms may produce erratic outflow gusts up to 50 mph. The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning, which is in effect from noon MDT /11 AM PDT/ Friday to 6 AM MDT /5 AM PDT/ Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 400 Northern Boise BLM, 420 Treasure Valley BLM, 423 Owyhee Mountains, 424 Western Twin Falls BLM and 426 Southern Highlands. In Oregon, Fire Weather Zones 670 Burns BLM, 671 Steens Mountain, 672 Southern Grasslands, 673 Central Canyonlands and 674 Northwestern Vale BLM. * TIMING...From noon MDT /11 AM PDT/ Friday to 6 AM MDT /5 AM PDT/ Saturday. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 50 mph. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.
