continue to be possible over the Wapiti Burn Area.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Idaho, including the following area,
Boise Mountains.

* WHEN...From noon MDT today through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heavy rainfall over the Wapiti Burn Area is expected up
to and during the period of the watch. Residents near the Wapiti
Burn Area should prepare for potential debris flow. Be sure to stay
up to date with information from local authorities. Heavy rainfall
could trigger flash flooding or debris flows in and near recent
wildfire burn scars.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- National Weather Service Meteorologists are forecasting heavy
rainfall over the Wapiti Burn Area, which may lead to flash
flooding and debris flows.

...MONSOON MOISTURE WILL BRING SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH
SATURDAY EVENING...

A push of monsoon moisture will bring a mix of wet and dry
scattered thunderstorms to the region through this evening.
Lingering dry surface air will limit the rainfall amounts through
Saturday especially across southeast Oregon, increasing concern
for lightning ignitions.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 423 Owyhee
Mountains, 424 Western Twin Falls BLM and 426 Southern
Highlands.

* TIMING...Until 8 PM MDT this evening.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 40 mph.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will occur shortly.

Monsoon moisture will bring a threat of thunderstorms to the region
through Saturday evening for much of the area. High atmospheric
moisture will allow for isolated thunderstorms producing heavy rain
accumulations, leading to an increased threat of flash flooding
especially for the recent wildfire burn scars.

Friday and Saturday have the highest chance for locally heavy rains,
especially near the ID-NV border, Baker County, and high terrain in
southwest Idaho.

Burn scars have the highest risk for flash flooding. Several burn
scars across the area are of particular concern for flash flooding
and debris flows, including: the Wapiti burn scar near Grandjean, ID,
the Fox burn scar near Richland, OR, the Powder River burn scar near
Richland, OR, the Tartar burn scar near Weiser, ID, the Coleman Creek
burn scar near Juntura, OR and the Big Grass Fire burn scar near
Jordan Valley, OR. Please monitor the latest weather conditions if
traveling near these areas.
